Human Resources Intern
Title: Human Resources InternDepartment: Human ResourcesReports to: Manager, Human ResourcesEmployment Category: This internship is a temporary, part-time assignment totaling 360 hours, aligned with the co-op program requirements. The placement runs from September 2026 through December 2026, as specified by the candidate’s academic institution.
The HR Intern will have the opportunity to learn and collaborate with the ACCES HR team, gaining exposure to various functional areas, projects, assignments, and initiatives in line with their internship program parameters. The successful candidate will work closely with the team to contribute toward achieving ACCES HR team’s goals and objectives.
Responsibilities and Opportunities:
Provide administrative support and assistance across all HR functions as needed by the HR Team, with main responsibilities in recruitment
Support HR actions and initiatives in alignment with ACCES’ Strategic Priorities
Handles ad‑hoc projects and assignments during the internship period. Key HR areas of support include but are not limited to:o Recruitment Initiativeso Talent Outreacho Recognition Program Administrationo HR Administrative Support (including timesheet auditing and tracking)o Learning & Development (including coordination of events and recommended training for staff development goals)o Health & Wellnesso Employees Performance Reviews (data collection & data entry)o Research
Opportunity to be mentored, coached, and counseled by ACCES HR team members
May be assigned other duties not noted on this list including support of HR functions, projects, assignments, and activities
Opportunity to participate in HR Team Meetings where we will discuss employee and labour relations issues and resolutions
Other similar or related duties as required
Required Skills:
In progress of completing a Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or a related field.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information and materials
Strong team player who collaborates effectively as a member of the HR team
Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to “roll up the sleeves” and work toward HR team goals
Professional demeanor with the ability to identify, manage, and safeguard confidential information with discretion
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Skilled in professionally contacting candidates for interviews and prescreening to support recruitment initiatives
Detail oriented with strong time management skills
Self-disciplined and able to work independently
Effective in a team environment where priorities may shift frequently
Proactive in identifying and recommending opportunities to enhance HR programs and services; willing to take on new responsibilities within placement hours
Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an aptitude for learning new software
Knowledge of HRIS navigation and data entry considered an asset
