Human Resources Manager
Working under Regional Directors, you will manage and execute recruitment activities from prospection through to onboarding, in addition to supporting core human resources functions. The main responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Execute full-cycle recruitment for water and wastewater treatment operators and other roles across AB, BC, and ON;
- Proactively prospect and headhunt qualified, certified operators through job boards, social media, industry associations, and networking (Water Associations, Linkedin, etc.)
- Develop and post job advertisements using our Smart Recruitments Solution; screen resumes and conduct initial candidate interviews;
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and support offer negotiations;
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings;
- Coordinate and lead the onboarding process for new hires, including documentation, orientation, and certification verification;
- Maintain relationships with colleges, technical schools, and industry associations to support ongoing talent sourcing;
- Human Resources Support:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee files and HR records/systems;
- Support the administration of HR policies, procedures, and employment standards compliance across AB, BC, and ON;
- Track employee certifications and support renewal reminders in coordination with operations managers;
- Assist with employee relations matters, responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner;
- Support performance management processes and documentation;
- Assist with the coordination of training and health & safety program compliance;
- Prepare HR-related reports and support ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives as required;
- Participate in required meetings (in-person & remotely).
Hours of Work
Regular work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (flexible), Monday to Friday, based out of the Cochrane, AB office. Hybrid work is acceptable (To be discussed).
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in a full-cycle recruitment and/or human resources role;
- Experience sourcing and recruiting for technical, skilled trades, or industrial/operational roles is a strong asset;
- Working knowledge of employment standards and HR best practices across AB, BC, and ON;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS/applicant tracking systems;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines;
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and use sound judgment and discretion with confidential information;
- Have a positive attitude and able to promote a positive image of AQUATECH.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- CPHR designation, or actively working towards one, considered an asset;
- Experience recruiting for remote or site-based operational roles;
- Familiarity with the water/wastewater treatment or broader utilities/industrial sector.
