Human Resources Manager

Position title: Human Resources Manager: Central Office

Grade: E12

Reports to: Human Resources Director

AGENCY MISSION: To empower children and families in Madison County, Illinois to develop positive skills to meet life’s challenges.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience. 3-5+ years of HR experience required, preferably in a nonprofit or human services setting. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law and compliance. Experience with recruiting, employee development and performance management. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to provide their own transportation to and from work and throughout the workday.

The Human Resources Manager will support and strengthen a positive workplace culture. This role requires emotional intelligence and someone who is strategic, hands-on and has a passion for people. The Human Resources Manager will need to have the ability to build strong supportive relationships with employees.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Support the full cycle of recruitment to attract and retain high-quality candidates.

Support and implement professional development programs and track and analyze outcomes to share with Supervisors and Management team.

Maintain and update job descriptions across the Agency in collaboration with the position’s Supervisor.

Ensure compliance with HR and other Agency policies, employment laws and governing body requirements to include Head Start, ISBE and DCFS.

Assist with employee performance evaluations, succession planning and in addressing employee issues.

Promote a positive, inclusive and mission-aligned workplace culture.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a setting with minimal safety issues. Some travel to outside meetings, training, conferences, Agency sites, etc. This position requires sitting, standing, bending and moderate lifting.
