Human Resources Specialist (Classification)

These positions are assigned to Human Resources Division but can be filled in the following locations: Albuquerque, NM Jacksonville, FL Kansas City, MO Norfolk, VA The selectee of this position serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Classification). You will be responsible for providing expert advisory services on position classification and job evaluation for General Schedule (GS), Senior Executive Service, and FWS positions.

As a Human Resources Specialist (Classification) at the GS-0201-13 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Conducts classification reviews, audits positions descriptions, and ensures compliance with OPM classification standards. Assists with the development of classification and position management guidelines. Advises management on how to establish organizational structures that are efficient, cost effective, support desired grade levels and facilitate career development. Provides assistance to employees with classification appeals.
