Human Resources & Training Officer

Based at our Bourke, NSW facility, the HR training Officer provides support to the Plant operations. This position works closely with internal & external stakeholders meeting compliance, in the delivery of inventory and store's requirements within regulations & standards for TFI.

The HR Training Officer works as part of the HR team in all areas of the Human Resources Department through training and General HR, and coordinates employee ‘on-boarding’ at the Bourke Plant. The position forges connections with a multitude of external stakeholders in order to promote TFI as an ‘employer of choice’. The position reports to the HR Manager and works in close collaboration with Plant Managers, Production Supervisors, Payroll and onsite Health Centre Staff.

Key Result Area 1 – Candidate Management Recruitment and Selection of Candidates.

§ Assist in areas onboarding process.

§ Liaise with recruitment and HR team with candidate inductions other employment related checks.

§ Ensure communication and documentation for new candidates is delivered in a timely manner and with attention to detail.

Key Result Area 2 – Employee Engagement, Retention & Discipline.

§ Provides feedback and input to Plant Management and HR regarding manning levels, retention strategies and disciplinary matters.

§ Maintain all employee files and systems.

§ Maintains information on bulletin boards.

§ Liaise with internal/external stakeholders regarding HR matters.

§ Coordinate the employee recognition program.

§ Upload employee data into online records management system.

§ Efficient and effective HR practices that are aligned to business objectives.

§ Developing effective relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.

§ Keeps accurate and confidential records of all HR related information.

§ Assisting in off-boarding process.

Key Result Area 3 – Trainer

The position of Trainer is primarily responsible for providing management and leadership in the areas of:-

· Staff selection and induction

· Staff training

· Workplace assessment of staff skills and competencies

· Job analysis design and evaluation

The position is directly responsible for ensuring that all staff recruitment, training and workplace assessment systems involved in the operation of the plant are developed and implemented, thereby ensuring the staff are fully trained to meet TFITB standards including TFIB Quality Program, HACCP, Good Manufacturing Practice, Environmental Management, Workplace Health and Safety System and Training Program. Further to ensure all the WH&S requirements are met as per iLeader and relevant acts.

The position reports operationally – Department Supervisor’s and Functionally – HR/Training Coordinator and works in close collaboration with site leaders.

CORE FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Training and development strategy

§ Provides input and feedback to inform the development, implementation, review, evaluation and continuous improvement of a Training & Development Strategy which effectively addresses agreed training needs and requirements; identifies new training needs.

§ Achieves agreed KPI’s, provides training to all employees to meet production requirements, to achieve Company & DAWR licensing product Quality Standards.

§ Meets and provides employee training in Workplace Health & Safety Requirements.

§ Conducts Job Analysis Design & Evaluation

Stakeholder networking and connections

§ Develops and maintains close working relationships with internal stakeholders; works in close collaboration with the Plant Manager, Production Manager, Supervisors, Recruitment Coordinator, HR & Payroll Staff.

Effective coordination &/or delivery of training

§ Plans and schedules training in consultation with Plant management, employees and all parties involved to minimise any potential disruption to production activities and plant management.

Accurate and complete training records

§ Maintains accurate and detailed training and attendance records; captures training data and information in relevant IT systems, applications and databases.

§ Maintains an accurate and up-to-date Skills Matrix across the business; follows-up with Plant management to ensure training has been delivered and completed as planned.

Measurement and evaluation of effectiveness of training

§ Monitors and keeps under review training issues and trends; provides accurate and timely reports to Plant Manager and Group HR Manager.

Continuous improvement of training

§ Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable training programs and initiatives, traineeships and apprenticeships; recommends improvements to training strategy; ensures improvements are implemented as approved by Plant Management, HR Manager or Group HR Manager.
