About this role:
Based in Syracuse, NY, the Lab IT Support Engineer person will assist to maintain the IT systems of the Light Commercial Labs. This systems include a custom LabVIEW VI that is used as our primary test software, a web database that is used for schedule tracking, and various SharePoint workflows and tools that drive other work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform updates to LabPro (a LabVIEW VI)
- Maintain the TESTS scheduling system and various SharePoint tools
- Develop software tools as needed by the labs
- Troubleshoot lab test instrumentation and test software
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience with LabVIEW and DAQ systems
- 1+ years of experience with database development
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related or technical field or similar
- Comfortable working on teams providing and receiving input from multiple people
- Electrical experience, as it pertains to an R&D Laboratory environment
- Refrigerant recovery certification EPA608 Universal preferred
- Comfortable working on teams providing and receiving input from multiple people
- Ability to communicate effectively, follow oral and written instructions.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to write clear, concise, and consistent emails.
- Strong safety record.
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring.
- Experience with basic hand and power tools, and other electrical equipment
- Experienced with HVAC product certification standards
- Ability to multitask and shift priorities with very short notice.
