Description

Commercial HVAC/R Technician | Service & D&C Projects

  • Location: Chermside, Brisbane (servicing QLD, NT & NSW)
  • Work Type: Full-time, stable career opportunity
  • The Package: $50 – $55 per hour + superannuation + 9-day fortnight + fully maintained vehicle + fuel card + company phone

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Technician who takes genuine pride in their trade. Based in Chermside, this is a full-time position with an established, growing business delivering premium commercial service, scheduled maintenance and diverse project work across QLD, NT and NSW.

This is more than just a volume service role. Our client isn't looking for someone to simply rush through a high-volume call sheet. They want the technician people call when a difficult fault needs sorting – someone who enjoys diagnosing complex issues, finding the right solution and taking technical ownership of a job.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Service & Diagnostics: Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair a broad range of commercial HVAC & R equipment and systems.
  • Project Delivery: Work across commercial fit-outs and Design & Construct (D&C) projects, installing equipment and associated components.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out scheduled servicing to keep client plant operating safely and efficiently.
  • Relationships & Leadership: Liaise directly with clients, Building Supervisors and Project Managers, while mentoring less experienced technicians in the field.

Requirements

What They Are Looking For

  • Trade Qualified: Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–4+ years of technician experience, with a solid background in commercial environments or project installations.
  • Licences: Current ARCtick licence, White Card and a valid Australian driver's licence (EWP licence is highly regarded).
  • Mindset: Strong fault-finding ability, excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to quality workmanship.

Benefits

What's In It for You?

Our client knows that top technicians have choices. They value technical capability and reward it with a stable, professional and respectful workplace culture:

  • Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a 9-day fortnight roster – giving you a long weekend every second week.
  • Real Variety: Engage in a dynamic mix of commercial service and major regional project work – no two days are the same.
  • Career Growth: Step into greater responsibility, leadership or project management as the business expands.
  • The Extras: Access to industry supplier discounts for personal use, ongoing training and a supportive team that understands the trade.
