HVAC Solution Designer (with a focus on air-cooling)
Summary
Designs and optimizes air-cooling systems for data centers, focusing on thermal management, equipment selection, and on-site implementation in Indonesia. Uses HVAC principles, CAD tools, and load calculations to ensure efficient cooling solutions.
Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for the end-to-end design of thermal management solutions for the air-cooling system in the Indonesia regional data center project, including performance optimization and on-site implementation support. Focuses on core tasks such as air-cooling system planning, selection and matching of conventional cooling equipment, and airflow organization optimization.
• Proficient in the core air-cooling architecture of data centers, including mainstream technologies such as precision air conditioners, air-cooled units, hot/cold aisle containment, and dry cooler air cooling. Able to independently perform cold and heat load calculations for air-cooling systems, conduct feasibility studies for system designs, and provide technical documentation and outputs.
• Responsible for the schematic design of HVAC water systems and ventilation systems supporting air-cooling projects; completing the drawing and review of equipment layout plans and system schematics; scientifically planning ductwork and piping routes as well as valve and component layouts to ensure efficient, stable, and compliant operation of the air-cooling system.
• Coordinate with local Indonesian construction contractors and domestic and international equipment suppliers to complete technical briefings for the air-cooling system installation, supervise the on-site construction process, promptly address various technical challenges in HVAC, plumbing, and drainage during project implementation, and ensure the smooth progress of the project.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or above through the national unified enrollment system, majoring in Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Building Environment and Equipment Engineering, HVAC, or a related field; with 3–5 years of specialized design experience in HVAC engineering.
• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the design and implementation of air-cooling systems for large-scale data centers, as well as those with experience in overseas engineering projects.
• Proficient in various air-cooled thermal management architectures, equipment principles, and optimization strategies for data centers, capable of independently completing CAD-based air-cooled HVAC system design, detailed drawing development, and iterative scheme optimization.
• Deeply understand the core energy consumption indicators PUE and WUE, and be able to independently perform accurate calculations of cooling and heating loads for air-cooling systems, hydraulic assessments of piping networks, and precise selection and matching of air-cooling equipment.
• Possesses excellent project coordination and cross-party communication and collaboration skills, enabling efficient engagement with owners, supervisors, construction contractors, and equipment suppliers to ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of air-cooled HVAC projects.
Salary negotiable based on qualifications and interview.
