1. About the Company
CU Air conditioning industries LLC, located in Dubai, UAE, operates under the brand name
Clima Uno. Clima Uno, the manufacturing division of Leminar Air Conditioning Company, is
a well-established brand of air-handling and fan coil units that originated in Italy and is now
part of the Al Shirawi Group of Companies. Its Eurovent-certified product range is custom
built for the region and manufactured in a fully integrated facility in Dubai. With efficient after
sales support, 24/7 assistance, and a tailored range of products, Clima Uno has become a
trusted partner for clients in the HVAC industry.
2. Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled HVAC Laboratory Test Engineer to
join our fully integrated manufacturing facility in Dubai. In this role, you will oversee and
execute performance testing on our premium range of HVAC equipment including Air
Handling Units (AHUs), Fresh Air Handling Units (FAHUs), Package Units, Ducted Split
Units, and Fan Coil Units (FCUs). You will ensure all units adhere rigidly to international and
industry testing standards (such as AHRI, ASHRAE, ISO, and Eurovent). The successful
candidate will play a pivotal role in acquiring and maintaining third-party laboratory
accreditation, ensuring top-tier instrument accuracy, and technically guiding lab technicians
through safe, professional installation setups.
3. Key Responsibilities
Product Testing & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive performance, thermal, airflow,
and electrical testing on AHUs, FAHUs, Package Units, Ducted Splits, and Fan Coil
Units (FCUs) according to regulatory and industry protocols.
Compliance & Certification: Assist in preparing compliance documentation, coordinate
communications with third-party verification bodies, and actively support the process to
achieve and maintain laboratory accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025) and product certifications
(e.g., AHRI, Eurovent) for Clima Uno's tailored product range.
Test Report Generation: Analyze, verify, and document raw test data to generate
precise test reports, performance curves, and data sheets for engineering evaluation,
client review, and certification bodies.
Calibration & Instrument Management: Manage the laboratory's instruments and
sensors. Plan and perform timely internal or external calibrations (temperature sensors,
flow meters, pressure transducers, power analyzers) to maintain top-tier accuracy and
data integrity.
Technical Guidance & Setups: Supervise and guide lab technicians on safe and
accurate mechanical/electrical installation setups for test loops, ensuring strict
adherence to specific test codes and safety standards.
Electrical & Control Diagnostics: Read electrical schematics to inspect and verify unit
wiring and use laboratory instruments to safely monitor multi-phase power consumption
and electrical parameters during testing.
4. Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / electrical / thermal Engineering with 2 to 3
years of relevant HVAC testing laboratory experience; OR a Diploma in Mechanical /
Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an HVAC
certification testing environment.
Technical Knowledge: Product understanding of unitary and applied HVAC equipment
(AHUs, FCUs, DX Systems). Thorough knowledge of psychrometric principles, fluid flow
measurements, and refrigeration cycles.
Standards Proficiency: Familiarity with international testing standards (e.g., ASHRAE
37, ISO 5151, AHRI 430 / 440). Previous exposure to Eurovent standards such as
EN1886, EN 13053 and ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory quality management systems are
highly advantageous.
Electrical Knowledge: Proven ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings, track
control circuits, use electrical diagnostic tools, and maintain electrical safety compliance.
Software & Tools: Proficiency in MS Excel for engineering calculations, automated
formatting, and data analysis.
