A Career at HARMAN Automotive

We’re a global, multi-disciplinary team that’s putting the innovative power of technology to work and transforming tomorrow. At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career.

  • Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experience
  • Combine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellence
  • Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoyment

About the Role

As a Hardware Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and verification (pre-validation) of automotive electronic hardware with a focus on high-speed digital interfaces, RF integration, signal integrity, and EMC, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and compliant products.

What You Will Do

  • Design electronic schematics and support multi-layer PCB layout development for automotive applications.

  • Support the integration of high-speed interfaces (USB, Automotive Ethernet, video) and RF technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS) following industry and chipset design guidelines.

  • Apply signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC design principles throughout schematic and PCB development.

  • Analyze EMC requirements, perform simulations and risk assessments, and support EMC concept development.

  • Set up, execute, and evaluate hardware verification and EMC tests using laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and near-field probes, EMC chamber.

  • Perform root-cause analysis of hardware and EMC issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, system, and validation engineers to resolve technical challenges.

  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, test reports, design reviews, FMEAs, and release documentation.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware development; automotive experience is a plus.

  • Understanding of high-speed digital and RF design concepts, including controlled impedance, differential pairs, transmission lines, antenna integration, and wireless technologies.

  • Basic knowledge of EMC principles and automotive EMC standards (e.g., CISPR 25).

  • Experience with professional ECAD tools such as Siemens/Mentor Xpedition, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or OrCAD.

  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as SPICE and electromagnetic field solvers (e.g., ANSYS HFSS).

  • Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic schematics and PCB layouts.

  • Good communication skills in English

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Simulation Tools: Spice, 3D solver alike (i.e. ANSYS HFSS)

  • Knowledge of automotive communication interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, USB, SPI, I²C)

  • Understanding of EMC fundamentals and automotive EMC standards (e.g. CISPR 25, ISO 11452, ISO 7637, IEC 61000‑x)

What Makes You Eligible

  • Willingness to work in a hybrid environment

  • Willingness to travel occasionally depending on project needs

What We Offer

  • Flexible work environment

  • Access to employee discounts on world-class Harman and Samsung products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)

  • Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University

  • Competitive wellness benefits

  • “Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program

  • An inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development
