Job Title
Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) Engineer Build, Certification & Infrastructure
Location : Pune, India
Job Type : Full-Time
Experience Level : 6–8 years
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer who can take end-to-end ownership across build management, hardware certification, and infrastructure engineering for our next-generation Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) platform.
This role is a blend of embedded systems development, cloud-native integrations, build/release ownership, and hardware-software validation. The ideal candidate is hands-on across compute, storage, networking, and hardware acceleration, while also ensuring that builds are reliable, certified, and enterprise ready.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build & Release Management
- Maintain, monitor, and improve CI/CD pipelines for HCI software components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve build failures, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Perform vulnerability scans and integrate security checks into the build process.
- Collaborate with developers to fix build issues and maintain compliance with secure coding practices.
2. HCI Hardware Certification & Validation
- Validate Diamanti’s HCI platform across server, storage, and network hardware vendors.
- Perform interoperability, firmware compatibility, and compliance testing.
- Certify performance and reliability across OEM vendor programs (Dell, HPE, Cisco, etc.).
- Run benchmarking, regression, chaos, and resiliency tests for enterprise-grade workloads.
3. Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
- Enhance and maintain the Diamanti HCI stack (compute, storage, networking).
- Develop and optimize high-performance I/O paths, storage acceleration, and networking offloads.
- Integrate custom hardware with Kubernetes (via CRDs, CSI/CNI drivers, and Operators).
- Work on scalability and performance tuning under production-like workloads.
- Leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi) for consistent
deployment.
4. Collaboration & Support
- Partner with Product Management to define requirements and customer use cases.
- Support QA and Support teams in troubleshooting and triaging escalations.
- Participate in PoC deployments and customer-facing solution validation.
- Collaborate with hardware vendors and certification bodies to align on compliance requirements.
5. Documentation & Quality Code
- Write clear documentation for builds, certification processes, and infrastructure deployment.
- Contribute to technical design discussions, reviews, and architecture improvements.
- Ensure high-quality code with unit, integration, and automation test coverage.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, embedded systems, or hardware certification.
Technical Expertise
- Programming: C, C++, Go, Shell scripting.
- Linux Systems: Kernel internals, performance tuning, driver development.
- Kubernetes: CSI/CNI driver development, Operators, Helm, container runtimes.
- Storage: NVMe, NVMe-oF, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, distributed storage systems.
- Networking: VLANs, SDN, SR-IOV, DPDK, NIC offloads.
- Build/DevOps: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Ansible, Terraform, Pulumi.
- Hardware Integration: PCIe devices, BIOS/UEFI, firmware upgrades, BMC/iLO/iDRAC.
- Tools: GDB, logic analyzers, JTAG, security scanning (Snyk, Trivy, SonarQube).
Additonal Desired Skills
- Familiarity with service mesh (Istio, Linkerd) and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks (FIPS, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS) and secure Kubernetes operations (OPA/Gatekeeper).
- Experience with chaos testing and infrastructure validation automation frameworks.
- Hands-on with multi-cluster management platforms (Spektra, Rancher, Anthos, OpenShift).
- Strong communication and mentoring skills to guide cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications: CKA, CKAD.
- Open-source contributions in Kubernetes, Linux kernel, or storage.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools and test frameworks.
