Your mission: guarantee the continuity and evolution of critical systems

Your mission will be to ensure that the IBM i infrastructure operates stably, securely, and efficiently, anticipating possible incidents and guaranteeing the continuity of services.

With your experience, you will contribute to protecting data, optimizing performance, and evolving an essential platform for the business, combining operational excellence and continuous improvement.

What impact will your work have?

• You will guarantee infrastructure availability, administering IBM i servers, LPARs, storage, and HMC, and anticipating possible service interruptions.

• You will drive continuity and performance, managing updates, replication with MIMIX, backups, disaster recovery, and the optimization of DB2 and MQ Series.

• You will reinforce security and automation, reviewing permissions and user profiles, applying protection measures, and developing scripts to simplify and improve operations.

What will make you successful in this position?

Solid experience in IBM i / AS/400. Having at least seven years administering critical environments will allow you to anticipate risks, resolve complex incidents, and make decisions autonomously. Your experience in the financial sector or in industries with high availability requirements will be especially useful.

Mastery of systems and database administration. Your knowledge of IBM i, OS/400, DB2, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL will help you maintain a robust environment, detect opportunities for improvement, and guarantee adequate performance.

Experience in high availability and business continuity. Knowing replication tools such as MIMIX, as well as backup and recovery strategies, will allow you to reduce the impact of possible failures and contribute to keeping services running.

Ability to develop and maintain solutions in IBM i. Your mastery of CLP, COBOL, SQL, and RPG, including DDS, DSPF, and PRTF, will help you automate tasks, maintain applications, and resolve technical needs effectively.

Knowledge of integration and secure data transfer. Your experience with MQ Series and GoAnywhere MFT, together with database systems administration, will facilitate the management of information flows between platforms.

Technical judgment in security. Your ability to manage permissions, privileged profiles, password policies, encryption, and access controls will contribute to protecting the infrastructure and reducing risks.

Experience in technological evolution and modernization. Having participated in migrations, consolidations, or modernization projects will help you identify improvements and provide a vision for the future without compromising the stability of the environment.

Autonomy, responsibility, and problem-solving ability. Your initiative and attitude toward problems will be key to prioritizing incidents, finding solutions, and maintaining system reliability even in demanding situations.

Communication and technical English. You will move fluently reading specialized documentation and communicating with international vendors, facilitating problem resolution and technical coordination.

Technical training and continuous learning. Higher education in Computer Science will provide you with a solid foundation for the role. IBM i certifications, experience with monitoring tools such as ROBOT, HelpSystems, or iDoctor, knowledge of API management, and the ability to mentor junior profiles will be a plus.
