IBM MQ & Integration Support Engineer
We are looking for a highly experienced IBM MQ & Integration Support Engineer with 13–15 years of experience to support and administer enterprise messaging and integration platforms. The role will focus on IBM MQ, IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE/IIB), and IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT), including platform administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, deployments, and production support.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience working in high-availability production environments, handling critical incidents, troubleshooting complex integration issues, and supporting enterprise messaging infrastructure across Linux and Windows platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, install, upgrade, migrate, and maintain IBM MQ v8/v9+ environments across Linux and Windows.
Configure and manage Queue Managers, Queues, Channels, Listeners, Process Definitions, and other MQ objects.
Monitor MQ environments and troubleshoot queues, channels, connections, message flows, and messaging failures.
Manage MQ Clustering, Workload Balancing, Multi-Instance Queue Managers, HA, DR, and failover configurations.
Perform MQ backup, recovery, restoration, and recreation of damaged or corrupted objects.
Manage SSL/TLS certificates, key databases, authentication, authorization, and MQ security configurations.
Administer and support IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT), including agents, file transfers, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Provide production support for IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IBM Integration Bus (IIB) applications.
Perform application deployments, configuration changes, troubleshooting, and minor enhancements across integration solutions.
Troubleshoot and debug integration components involving ESQL, Java, SQL, XML, XSLT, and message transformations.
Manage and troubleshoot internal and external certificates used by IIB/ACE applications and integrations.
Investigate and resolve critical production issues including channel retry failures, sequence number mismatches, uncommitted messages, message backlogs, and connectivity issues.
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and business teams to resolve complex integration and messaging incidents.
Participate in 24x7 production support, incident management, problem management, RCA preparation, and on-call rotations.
Ensure platform stability, availability, performance, and adherence to operational and support standards.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience in IBM MQ Administration – v8/v9 or higher.
Good experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) / IBM Integration Bus (IIB).
Experience supporting and administering IBM Managed File Transfer (MFT).
Strong understanding of MQ Clustering, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), Workload Balancing, and Failover.
Hands-on experience with SSL/TLS certificates, key databases, and MQ/IIB security.
Working knowledge of Java, ESQL, and SQL.
Good understanding of XML, XSLT, and message transformation concepts.
Strong Linux and Windows administration skills.
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging capabilities in enterprise production environments.
Strong experience in production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.
Willingness to participate in 24x7 support and on-call activities.
Good to Have
Experience with IBM Connect.
Exposure to enterprise integration architecture and messaging environments.
Experience working in large-scale, business-critical production environments.
