Ice Building Supervisor (part-time)
JOB SUMMARY: The part-time Ice Arena Building Supervisor is directly responsible for assisting in managing the scheduled operations at West Meadows Ice Arena and Nelson Sports Complex. This is an at-will position. Primary duties include:
- Makes ice at Scheduled times.
- Answer telephone and assist customers while Supervisor on duty.
- Manages the locker room assignments.
- Keep ice schedule running on time.
- Supervise, open, or close building as scheduled.
- Walk the facility at a minimum of hourly, checking all areas.
- Complete Olympia safety checks and proper storage.
- Collect registrations and payments, place in safe.
- Work front desk operations as required.
- Sign in and out in supervisor log book for each shift.
- Complete ice maintenance at end of night.
- Edge /chop entire rink as assigned.
- Dump water in goal crease area as needed.
- Assists with Ice Show set up.
- Pick up litter throughout the building, grounds, and facilities of the District.
- Attends events, activities, and meetings as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must be at least 19 years of age and should have:
- A valid Drivers License and able to drive an ice resurfacer.
- Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds and work in the ice rink with temperatures set accordingly.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills along with good judgement.
- Be reliable, show initiative, possess flexibility, and open to constructive criticism.
- Able to communicate with patrons and co-workers and to respond tactfully to their concerns.
- Able to complete First Aid and CPR/AED certification and Olympia training.
SCHEDULE & PAY: This is a part-time, year-round position. Various flexible shifts available including weekday mornings (5:30am-12pm), evenings (4pm-10pm), and weekend shifts (between 7am and 4pm) at either West Meadows Ice Arena or Nelson Sports Complex. Full pay range for this position is $17-25 per hour, dependent upon qualifications. Plus applicable facility and program discounts.
