Ice Skating Instructor
Summary
Teaches ice skating lessons to individuals of varying skill levels in a structured, safe, and engaging environment at a public ice arena.
Summary: The Ice-Skating Instructor will teach a variety of skating lessons in a positive, safe, educational, and fun environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instruct skating lessons in accordance with the District skating curriculum and guidelines.
- Teach skills essential to the development and growth of the skater's abilities and progress.
- Attend all informational staff meetings.
- Assist with Ice Show, competitions, and exhibitions, as well as special events held at Centennial Ice Arena.
- Maintain records as required (i.e., attendance, progress reports, etc.).
- Follow all Park District policies and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
- Possess knowledge of skating maneuvers.
- Understand skill levels and teach in a progressive and safe manner.
- Respond appropriately and in a timely manner to participant and facility emergencies, including completion of accident/incident or minor injury log.
- Performs other Park District-related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
