ICT Business Analyst
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 per year
About the role
We are looking for an ICT Business Analyst to join our team and help shape the next phase of SAHE's technology roadmap. This is a hands on, high impact role for someone who enjoys working closely with academic and corporate stakeholders to understand business needs, and translating those needs into practical, well tested system solutions. You will work across requirements gathering, process analysis, solution design, project delivery and user training, and will have the opportunity to contribute to a genuinely in house-built technology environment rather than a purchased, off the shelf platform.
Key responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders across Academic, Admissions, Marketing, Finance, HR and Student Services to formulate, analyse and document business requirements.
- Identify, investigate and analyse business processes, procedures and work practices, and recommend improved ways of working.
- Identify and evaluate system inefficiencies and recommend optimal business practices, system functionality and system behaviour.
- Develop functional specifications, business process models, data models, workflow diagrams and system requirements to support the design and development of ICT solutions.
- Apply project management methodologies and principles to plan, cost, resource and manage the delivery of ICT projects.
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of ERP, Student Information Systems, CRM, SharePoint, forms, ticketing, timetabling and LMS platforms.
- Analyse business processes and identify opportunities for system integration, automation and digital transformation.
- Lead ICT projects from requirements gathering and solution design through testing, implementation and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with the Registrar and Student Services teams to translate student lifecycle and administration requirements into technology-enabled systems and workflows.
- Analyse and design digital workflows, reporting dashboards and data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
About you
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a business analyst, systems analyst or similar ICT role, ideally within a complex or regulated environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Practical experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, system testing and project delivery.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and enterprise systems such as ERP, SIS or CRM platforms is highly regarded.
- Experience in the higher education or vocational education sector, and familiarity with frameworks such as TCSI, PRISMS, ESOS, CRICOS or AVETMISS, is an advantage but not essential.
