St Andrew’s College is a vibrant, independent school in Christchurch with a proud history and a focus on excellence, creativity, and care. We’re all about supporting our students and staff to be their best.

We are now looking for an ICT Helpdesk Administrator to join our team. This is a key position within our ICT team, providing exceptional day‑to‑day support to over 1700 students and staff.

About the role

As an ICT Helpdesk Administrator, you will be responsible for providing efficient, friendly, and customer-focused ICT support to students and staff across the College. As a key member of our ICT team, you will be one of the first points of contact for technology-related enquiries.

This role will be primarily based in the ICT Helpdesk office, where students will bring their devices to you for assistance with network connectivity, printing, Microsoft 365 applications, and general troubleshooting. You will also provide in-person support to teaching and administrative staff throughout the College when required.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will be an effective communicator and have a strong commitment to customer service, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and approachable manner.

The ideal candidate will be personable, approachable, and confident working with people of all ages and technical abilities. You will genuinely enjoy helping others, demonstrate patience and empathy when resolving issues, and take pride in delivering exceptional customer service while building positive relationships across the College community.

The existing ICT team is highly regarded within the College and has created a positive and collaborative working environment, with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding service and support. We are looking for someone who shares these values and is committed to maintaining the high level of support our students and staff have come to expect.

This is not your average small school network – we have an ICT team of nine people supporting a diverse set of systems and applications in an environment that seeks to integrate technology in a way that enables teaching and learning processes to happen more efficiently. Opportunities to expand your knowledge and develop your skills are plentiful. So, if you are interested in a challenge, love supporting customers, and enjoy hands-on experience with a range of technologies, then apply now.

Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Start and finish times to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
