About the role
We need an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead technology projects for ANZESCO and its clients. You'll run multidisciplinary teams across Australia, New Zealand and South Asia, and take projects from requirements through integration, migration and testing to rollout and handover.
Key responsibilities
Plan and manage ICT projects for the company and its clients, covering software applications, digital platforms, technology integrations and systems that support engineering and business operations.
Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand operational challenges, define functional and technical requirements, and agree project objectives, deliverables and acceptance criteria.
Develop practical project plans setting out delivery stages, resource requirements, budgets, dependencies, milestones and implementation schedules; review progress and adjust plans as project needs change.
Coordinate multidisciplinary delivery teams, including software developers, business analysts, UI/UX designers, quality assurance staff and infrastructure specialists, to maintain clear priorities and accountability.
Oversee the delivery of web, mobile and enterprise application projects, working with technical leads to review proposed solutions for functionality, scalability, maintainability and suitability for client requirements.
Manage projects involving the integration of existing and new business systems, databases, application interfaces and third-party platforms, ensuring compatibility and continuity of client operations.
Guide the assessment and selection of software platforms, development approaches and supporting ICT resources, balancing client requirements, technical constraints, cost and long-term support needs.
Monitor project expenditure, resource utilisation and supplier commitments; identify budget or capacity pressures early and recommend corrective action to keep delivery within agreed limits.
Maintain project risk, issue and change-control processes, assessing the impact of scope revisions, technical dependencies and implementation constraints on timelines, cost and service continuity.
Establish quality checkpoints throughout the delivery cycle and coordinate system, integration and user-acceptance testing to confirm that solutions meet agreed specifications before release.
Coordinate data-conversion, migration and deployment activities where required, including cutover planning, validation, contingency measures and arrangements to minimise disruption to client systems.
Ensure information security, access controls, data protection and operational resilience are considered during project design, implementation and transition, in consultation with relevant technical specialists.
Coordinate project communication and delivery activities across teams and client representatives in New Zealand and South Asia, ensuring timely decisions, escalation of issues and consistent reporting.
Oversee rollout readiness, user orientation, technical documentation and handover to client or support teams, ensuring that delivered solutions can be operated and maintained effectively.
Evaluate completed projects against agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality measures; document lessons learned and improve the company’s processes for managing future ICT engagements.
Lead integration planning and API enablement (REST APIs, microservices, messaging) between client systems, third-party platforms and vendors, and ensure interface requirements and design documents are completed and signed off.
Plan legacy-to-modern system migrations and coexistence strategies that keep downtime to a minimum, including AI-assisted code modernisation and test automation where appropriate.
Oversee cloud and DevOps delivery (AWS, containers, CI/CD pipelines) and the supporting infrastructure, including servers and networks (Windows Server, VMware), through to handover to support.
Provide delivery governance and regular executive reporting to senior client stakeholders, and manage vendors and suppliers against agreed commitments.
Deliver web and mobile applications, dashboards and digital tools that support ANZESCO’s engineering and energy projects.
Lead, mentor and build the capability of developers, engineers and analysts across locations.
