ICT & Support Officer (LANA)
Salary: $5,090 – $5,508 per month
About the role
The ICT & Support Officer provides technical and operational support to the Australian High Commission. This includes providing ICT services to a range of agencies and supporting visiting officials and events. Duties include managing service subscriptions, coordinating contract renewals, troubleshooting system issues, and maintaining IT equipment such as laptops, servers, and network devices. The role also offers guidance to internal stakeholders on local telecommunications and broadband services, liaises with external vendors, and supports the setup of IT equipment for official visits, meetings, and events both within and outside the office.
Key responsibilities
Provide technical and operational support for all agency information and communication technology (ICT) requirements, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in collaboration with regional and Canberra-based ICT support teams.
Manage and monitor ICT infrastructure including software, hardware, telecommunications, broadband, local area network services, subscriptions and service contracts to ensure service continuity and alignment with organisational requirements.
Maintain and administer ICT asset inventories and support asset lifecycle management, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, transfers, disposals, and accountability of technology assets.
Provide advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on local ICT solutions and deliver ICT support for official visits and events conducted both on-site and off-site.
Monitor and evaluate vendor performance and recommend service improvements where appropriate.
Provide support to the Post System Administrator (PSA), working closely with the PSAs and Regional Technical Officer (RTO) to address network, connectivity, systems access and operational issues.
Support property and safehand operations, including asset management, inventory control, stocktakes, procurement support, secure storage, movement of assets and compliance with policies and procedures.
About you
Must hold or be able to obtain an Australian government National Security Clearance at Negative Vetting 2 (NV2) or above.
Experience in an IT-related field is desirable.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support users across diverse departments.
Strong problem-solving and project coordination skills.
Demonstrated integrity, personal accountability and professional judgement.
High level written and oral English communication skills.
Demonstrated experience and high-level interpersonal skills with managing service contracts and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to safely move, install, configure and support ICT equipment, including laptops, monitors, peripherals, audiovisual equipment and network devices, to support operational requirements.
