ICT Support Officer
Help keep our zoos connected, so we can focus on protecting wildlife.
Are you a hands-on IT professional who enjoys solving problems, helping people and keeping technology running smoothly? Join Zoos SA as our ICT Support Officer and play an important role in supporting the technology that enables our people to deliver exceptional animal care, visitor experiences and conservation outcomes.
Working across Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park, you will provide day-to-day technical support to employees and volunteers, helping them get the most out of their technology. Reporting to the ICT Manager, you will join a collaborative team where your technical expertise, initiative, and customer-focused approach will make a real difference.
What you will do
No two days will be quite the same. You will:
- Provide technical support: Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 ICT support, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, application, connectivity, printing and user access issues.
- Support our people: Respond to service requests, manage incidents through our Jira service management system, and provide friendly, practical guidance to employees and volunteers.
- Manage devices and technology: Configure, deploy, maintain and replace desktops, laptops, mobile devices and associated peripherals.
- Keep systems running: Assist with network connectivity, wireless technologies, communications systems and cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
- Support cyber security and compliance: Assist with software updates, patch management, endpoint security and mobile device management, escalating risks when required.
- Maintain accurate records: Keep ICT asset registers up to date and coordinate routine technology audits and maintenance activities.
- Make things better: Identify recurring issues, recommend improvements and contribute to technology deployments, system upgrades and better ways of working.
About you
You are a practical, solutions-focused IT professional who enjoys working with people just as much as working with technology. You take ownership of issues, communicate clearly and remain calm when priorities change.
You will bring:
- A relevant post-secondary qualification in Information Technology, or equivalent skills and experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing technical support in a user-focused ICT environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, applications, connectivity and user access issues.
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals and audio-visual technology.
- An understanding of user account administration, identity management and basic cyber security principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse workforce.
- Initiative, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands while working autonomously.
It would also be great if you have
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, IT service management systems, endpoint management, networking fundamentals, Microsoft Teams and conferencing technologies, multi-factor authentication, or participation in ICT projects and system upgrades.
You do not need to know everything on day one. We are looking for someone with a solid technical foundation, a willingness to learn and a commitment to keeping their skills current.
