Your new role
As our ICT Support Specialist, you will be the day-to-day point of contact for technology across SCECS while supporting the IT Manager.
You will provide practical technical support while helping us develop consistent, reliable ICT processes across our services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Service Desk & Support
- Manage and support day-to-day service desk requests, incidents and technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues or escalate where required.
- Develop knowledge articles and guides to help staff resolve common issues themselves.
- Support teams across Customer Service, Facilities, HR and Recruitment as they transition to new technology platforms.
Identity & Access
- Support staff onboarding and offboarding.
- Manage users, groups, licences and access through Microsoft Entra ID.
- Assist with regular access reviews and ensure staff have the appropriate technology access.
Devices & Technology Assets
- Configure, enrol and deploy Windows and Apple devices.
- Support Intune and Apple Business Manager environments.
- Maintain the organisation's technology asset register, including repairs, warranties and secure disposal.
Service & Site Support
- Travel to SCECS services to provide hands-on technical support.
- Troubleshoot devices, printers, AV equipment, wireless and basic network issues.
- Help reduce recurring technology problems across our services.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
- Create simple, easy-to-follow technology guides for educators and non-technical staff.
- Develop and maintain ICT procedures and runbooks.
- Identify opportunities to improve how technology is delivered and supported across SCECS.
You are a hands-on IT professional who enjoys helping people and solving problems.
You don't need to know everything. What matters is that you are curious, patient, practical and confident working through technical issues.
You will ideally have:
- 2+ years' experience in an IT support role, preferably supporting multiple locations.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
- Experience across Windows, macOS and iOS.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to explain technology clearly to people with different levels of technical knowledge.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to create simple user guides.
- A willingness to travel regularly to SCECS services across Sydney.
- A current NSW Driver Licence.
- A Working with Children Check & Police Check.
It would be great if you also have experience with:
- Microsoft Intune.
- Apple Business Manager.
- ITSM or enterprise service management platforms.
- Basic networking, including VLANs, DHCP and wireless troubleshooting.
- ITIL 4 Foundation.
- Microsoft certifications such as MS-900, SC-900 or MD-102.
- Education, early childhood or not-for-profit environments.
Relevant IT qualifications are also desirable, but practical experience and the ability to solve problems will be highly valued.
