Job brief

ICT Technician/Support Engineer is responsible for the build out, maintenance, and troubleshoot our rapidly expanding client base. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. The System/Desktop Engineer will work closely with IT Technicians and Managers.

Experience required:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience a System or Desktop Engineer role with Small to medium sized businesses.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a desktop support role including Office 365, Backups and VoIP systems.

  • Experience in implementing, managing and troubleshooting all aspects of Windows Servers

  • Previously worked in a fast-paced environment managing incident priorities and ensuring Customer SLA's are met.

  • Previous experience working for an IT MSP would be highly advantages.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support to users, resolving hardware, software and system-related issues.

  • Desktop support for Windows-based operating systems, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Hardware fault finding, diagnosis and repair of desktop computers, laptops and associated peripherals.

  • Provide Office 365 support and implementation, including user account configuration, application support and troubleshooting.

  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.

  • Install, configure and support VoIP phone systems and related communication technologies.

  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel to investigate and resolve technical issues.

  • Manage and monitor installed systems and infrastructure to ensure reliable operation.

  • Proactively ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability.

  • Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks and implement solutions in conjunction with developers where required.

  • Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies to support business continuity.

  • Participate in the design and implementation of information systems and operational support systems.

  • Write and maintain scripts and automation tools to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Qualifications/Skills/ Requirements:

  • Relevant ICT qualification (Diploma level or higher) and/or at least three years of relevant ICT support experience.

  • Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS and Azure.

  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box).

  • Experience with monitoring systems.

  • Experience with automation software preferred ConnectWise Automate.

  • Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
