Identity Architect/Solution Architect - IAM

Identity Architect role responsible for defining and governing the organisation's Identity & Access Management (IAM) strategy, architecture, and standards across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, and hybrid environments. You'll lead the design of secure identity solutions covering SSO, MFA, PAM, Identity Governance and Zero Trust principles while partnering with stakeholders across cyber security, cloud, infrastructure and enterprise architecture.

Description

Lead the development and governance of enterprise IAM architecture and standards.

Develop and maintain identity strategies, roadmaps, reference architectures and design patterns.

Architect solutions across Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory and hybrid cloud environments.

Define and govern identity capabilities including SSO, federation, MFA and Conditional Access.

Establish identity governance, access management and lifecycle management frameworks.

Provide architectural leadership across PAM, RBAC, ABAC, entitlement management and least-privilege access models.

Define and govern integration patterns between identity platforms, cloud services, SaaS applications and enterprise systems.

Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments and design assurance activities.

Partner with security teams to align identity controls with Zero Trust principles.

Provide expert advice on identity-related risks, controls and remediation strategies.

Influence stakeholders and drive the adoption of enterprise IAM standards and best practices.

Mentor architects, engineers and technical teams on contemporary identity architecture approaches.

Profile

Extensive experience designing and governing enterprise Identity & Access Management architectures.

Strong expertise with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory and hybrid identity environments.

Deep knowledge of federation, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access and modern authentication protocols.

Experience implementing Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) and identity lifecycle management capabilities.

Strong understanding of Privileged Access Management (PAM), RBAC, ABAC and entitlement governance.

Experience integrating identity solutions across cloud, on-premise and SaaS-based platforms.

Strong understanding of Zero Trust security principles and cyber security frameworks.

Proven ability to develop architecture standards, governance models and technology roadmaps.

Experience conducting architecture assurance, risk assessments and solution reviews.

Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and executive audiences.

A collaborative leadership style with experience mentoring architects and engineering teams.
