IE Lean Technician

We are looking for an IE Lean Technician to become a key member of our IE/ FI team, supporting the site in identifying, analysing and eliminating losses through structured problem solving and continuous improvement.

This role will play a critical part in turning data and loss analysis into sustainable improvements. You will lead improvement projects, support teams in solving increasingly complex problems and build problem-solving capability across the organisation through coaching and training.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills, practical problem solving and project management capability, with the ability to engage and influence people at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key member of the Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar, supporting the delivery of the site's continuous improvement strategy.
  • Lead loss analysis, identifying the largest and most significant losses and translating data into improvement opportunities.
  • Take ownership as Loss Project Lead for key improvement initiatives, from problem definition through to implementation and verification of results.
  • Lead and facilitate complex problem-solving activities, using structured methodologies to identify root causes and develop sustainable countermeasures.
  • Use data analysis to identify trends, quantify losses, prioritise opportunities and demonstrate the impact of improvements.
  • Coach teams and individuals in Basic Problem Solving, building capability in structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Deliver training and practical coaching to embed problem-solving standards and continuous improvement behaviours.
  • Support the development and execution of FI projects, ensuring actions, milestones and benefits are clearly tracked.
  • Work cross-functionally with Safety, Quality, Operations & Engineering and other teams to deliver improvements.
  • Challenge existing processes and ways of working to identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve performance.
  • Monitor and validate project benefits to ensure improvements are sustained.
  • Communicate project progress, findings and results clearly to stakeholders and the wider business.

About You

We are looking for an individual who is analytical, curious and passionate about problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in loss analysis and data analysis, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight and action.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to improvement projects.
  • Good project management skills, including planning, prioritisation, action tracking and stakeholder management.
  • The ability to facilitate and lead complex problem-solving activities.
  • Confidence in coaching others and developing problem-solving capability.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • A structured and disciplined approach to improvement.
  • Good attention to detail and a focus on delivering measurable, sustainable results.
