IEA Research Lab Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
This position supports one or more NIA funded research projects. Position will report to the Clemson Site Principal Investigator (PI) for the assigned project(s). Responsibilities include the oversight of protocol adherence, protocol and procedures updates, IRB approvals, staff, regulatory compliance, data collection, study timelines and deliverables. Performs other duties as assigned. Locations include Greenville, SC and Seneca, SC. Must be able to work in either location.
JOB DUTIES:
35% - Recruits, trains, coordinates, and supervises research staff to implement policies and procedures and successfully carry out study operations. Manages and monitors staff to ensure compliance to study protocol and data quality control. Coordinates staffing to cover study needs and serves as back up staff, if needed. Ensures that psychometric testing is appropriately conducted and scored. Oversees randomization procedures and ensures investigators remain blinded. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Manages timely adverse event reporting. Ensures data site adherence and compliance. Monitors progress provides weekly progress reports

25% - Oversees implementation of study protocol or multisite clinical trial(s) under the direction of the PI. This includes managing IRB approvals, preparing and maintaining federal, state, and university regulatory compliance documents, updating the protocol, study procedures, manuals of operations, related communications, data forms and other study documents, data collection, and coordinating and attending various study team meetings.

25% - Monitors compliance of study procedures with federal, state and university regulations. Critically reviews and suggests updates to study procedures to improve adherence and efficiency. Ensures that documents such as data forms and informed consent are appropriately gathered version control is maintained.

10% -Manages clinical center, site and research staff communication, arranges meetings and conference calls, and prepares/manages all study meetings/documents. Acts as a point of contact and support for research support for research staff and study participants. Develops related standards, templates and processes.

5% - Prepares presentations of research findings for scientific conferences. Assists with publications of study findings for scientific audiences. Drafts program reports for funding agencies and/or public dissemination.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology, microbiology, biochemistry or a closely related field and relevant experience in a clinical or research laboratory environment. Experience in phlebotomy.
Preferred Requirements:
Experience working on NIH-funded studies and/or clinical trials. Experience working with older adults and/or diverse populations. Experience with REDCap and Qualtrics.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:
Expected Salary Range
$57,700.00 - $65,000.00Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
