Why join Marshall Land Systems in this role:

Marshall Land Systems is looking for a developing IFS Business Systems Analyst to support the day-to-day operation of IFS Cloud across its UK operations.

The role will focus on the operational areas of IFS, particularly Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Purchasing, Inventory and Warehousing. The successful candidate will act as the operational link between users, business process owners and Marshall Land Systems’ external IFS support partner, Enterprise Analytics (EA). EA provides the specialist IFS expertise; the analyst provides the operational continuity, coordination and follow-through needed to keep the business moving.

The immediate priority is to keep the end-to-end operational process moving. The role will investigate IFS-related operational issues, unstick straightforward process and business-data problems where possible, support users and ensure genuine system, configuration or technical issues are properly understood, structured and escalated to EA with the right business context and evidence.

This is a development role. The successful candidate will already have practical experience of an ERP or MRP system in an operational environment. They will be supported through formal IFS Cloud training, mentoring and operational exposure to develop into a broader Business Systems Analyst and ultimately Business Analyst role.

Your responsibilities in this role include:

· Provide first-line operational IFS analysis across Manufacturing and Supply Chain processes.

· Understand the end-to-end transaction flow from planning through purchasing, goods receipt, inventory movement and manufacturing execution.

· Investigate issues before escalation and identify whether the root cause sits in business data, process, user knowledge, IFS configuration or the application / technical layer.

· Resolve straightforward business-data and transaction issues directly with the relevant MLS team or functional owner.

· Coordinate with Process Owners where correction or ownership sits within the business function.

· Escalate genuine configuration, application, integration or technical issues to EA with clear evidence, transaction references, business impact and expected outcome.

· Track issues through to resolution rather than simply forwarding tickets between teams, maintaining momentum between the business, process owners and EA.

· Coordinate business testing, communicate the outcome back to users and confirm that a fix has restored the end-to-end business process before closure.

· Identify recurring issues and support root-cause elimination, process improvement and user education.

· Support UAT, regression testing, controlled change and future IFS improvement activity.

· Maintain practical process notes, issue records and supporting documentation where required.

Apply if you have most of the following:

· Practical experience using an ERP or MRP system within a manufacturing, engineering, supply chain or project-driven operational environment.

· Experience across several operational processes, including manufacturing, supply chain planning, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, production orders, goods receipt and material movements.

· Experience investigating operational issues, identifying root causes and resolving transaction or business-data issues.

· Ability to follow transactions through end-to-end business processes, identifying issues and coordinating with relevant teams to achieve resolution.

· Experience supporting ERP users, coordinating with functional teams or working with external system support providers.

· Experience in an ERP support, systems analysis or operational role, such as ERP Super User, Planner, Buyer or Materials Controller.

Technical Skills and Education

· Good understanding of ERP/MRP systems and their application within operational business processes.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate transaction data, system status and operational exceptions.

· Good Microsoft Excel skills and strong attention to detail.

· Clear communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with operational users, business process owners and technical specialists.

· Strong organisational skills, with a proactive approach to issue ownership, follow-through and resolution.

· Ability to support system testing, defect management, process documentation and continuous improvement activities.

· IFS Cloud or IFS Applications experience is desirable but not essential. Training and development will be provided to support progression into a broader Business Systems Analyst and Business Analyst role.

· Relevant qualifications in IT, Business Systems, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or a related discipline are desirable; however, practical ERP/MRP experience and a willingness to learn are key.

Additional local needs:

· Onsite role based in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales

· Candidates will need to complete and pass BPSS

Benefits of this role include:

· A structured development pathway into a broader Business Systems Analyst and ultimately Business Analyst role.

· Access to formal IFS Cloud training, mentoring and hands-on experience with a key business system.

· Develop a strong understanding of how manufacturing, supply chain, finance and operational processes connect across the business.

· Opportunity to identify recurring issues, improve processes and contribute to the effectiveness of systems supporting manufacturing operations.

· Gain valuable experience in ERP systems, problem-solving, stakeholder management and business process analysis, creating a strong foundation for future career progression.
