Ignition Engineer
About the Role
You will execute automation projects for clients in
packaging and related industries, building systems that link PLC / SCADA with
IIoT and smart factory layers using Ignition and other tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design,
develop, and implement automation solutions using Ignition platform.
- Develop Ignition Perspective & Vision Modules, HMI/SCADA screens, data logging, and alarming strategies.
- Integrate
real-time data from control systems to IoT / analytics / cloud.
- Experience
in Real-time Data acquisition and integration from PLCs/SCADA
systems via OPC-UA, Mod-bus, MQTT, or other industrial protocols.
- Deploy
systems, commission, test, and troubleshoot. Create
technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and user training
materials for Ignition-based solutions.
- Collaboration
with data/AI/software teams to provide structured datasets and
enable higher-level analytics.
Skills & Competencies (Ignition Specific)
- Proficiency
in Ignition Designer for developing HMI/SCADA screens, dashboards,
tag configuration, and alarm management.
- Strong
knowledge of Ignition Gateway setup and module configuration (Vision, Perspective, Tag Historian, Reporting, Alarming, etc.).
- Hands-on
expertise in data logging, historian setup, and visualization
dashboards for process monitoring and analytics.
- Ability
to connect Ignition systems with IoT, cloud, MES, or ERP platforms through APIs, databases, and edge solutions.
- Skills
in system deployment, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance
tuning in live industrial environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Automation / Computer Science).
- 6–8
years of hands-on automation experience.
- Ignition
software expertise (certificate course preferred).
- Must
be Core & Gold Certified in Ignition.
- Good
understanding of PLC / SCADA / networking / industrial protocols.
