IIoT - Software Developer/ Develpoment & Operations Engineer
IIoT Developer/ DevOps Engineer
Development and Operations for a global Industrial IoT platform
| ROLE MISSION | Build, automate, operate and continuously improve reliable IIoT services from edge to cloud. |
Role purpose
As an IIoT Developer/DevOps Engineer, you take end-to-end ownership of applications and infrastructure across their full lifecycle. You combine software development with platform operations and ensure that our Industrial IoT solutions are secure, observable, maintainable, and scalable.
You work hands-on in a cross-functional environment and help evolve a standardized global IIoT platform that connects industrial assets, processes data reliably and enables manufacturing use cases.
Key responsibilities
· Develop and maintain IIoT services, platform components, and operational tooling.
· Own the complete DevOps lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot and improve.
· Create and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, security checks, and deployments.
· Package and operate workloads with containers, primarily Podman, on RHEL-based environments.
· Operate and improve Linux-based server infrastructure in industrial environments.
· Design and troubleshoot network communication between machines, edge systems, and cloud services.
· Implement and improve application observability with OpenTelemetry, including metrics, logs, and traces.
· Work with SQL databases to ensure reliable storage, efficient querys and general performance optimization.
· Automate recurring operational tasks and reduce manual effort through standardization and infrastructure-focused engineering.
· Participate in incident analysis, root-cause identification, and sustainable corrective actions.
· Create concise technical documentation and communicate solutions clearly to developers, infrastructure teams and manufacturing stakeholders.
Professional profile
| Core technical skills | DevOps and operations mindset |
|
RHEL / Linux Confident administration, troubleshooting and automation in enterprise Linux environments. GitLab CI/CD Practical experience building and maintaining robust delivery pipelines. Containers / Podman Strong understanding of images, registries, runtime configuration, networking and lifecycle management. Networking & OpenTelemetry Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, ports, firewalls, certificates and systematic connectivity troubleshooting. Experience in instrumenting and operating distributed services using metrics, logs, and traces. Development Professional in .NET Framework and Azure stack SQL databases Hands-on ability to model, query, maintain and troubleshoot relational databases. |
End-to-end ownership You do not stop after deployment. You care about stable operation, maintainability, and continuous improvement. Automation first You turn recurring tasks into repeatable, version-controlled and reliable processes.
Reliability and security You consider availability, recoverability, access control, secret- and lifecycle management from the beginning. Root-cause thinking You solve underlying problems instead of only treating symptoms. Documentation You leave systems and processes understandable for the wider team. |
