Imaging Tech Supervisor
Overview
The Imaging Technologist Supervisor is accountable for directing the implementation and coordination of clinically oriented information systems imaging projects and related activities in the Cardiac Rehabilitation department.
Responsibilities
• Schedules work assignments and coordinates for Cardiac Rehabilitation services to insure adequate coverage of the department at all times.
• Supervises and maintains Cardiac Rehabilitation services in compliance with standards established by the hospital and state, local and federal standards.
• Schedules all special procedures in accordance with other standard procedures being performed, performs all isotope examinations and performs general technical duties as required.
• Performs all special or difficult examinations in order to obtain satisfactory results. Assists with difficult procedures.
• Develops and maintains the technical aspect of imaging safety recommending programming, monitoring, and location of warning devices in carrying out radiation safety.
• Maintains an up-to-date knowledge in imaging to allow recommendation of new services, products and equipment.
• Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement for imaging in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department.
• Supervises training and staff development of personnel in the department and assures that employees receive proper orientation.
• Makes minor repairs to equipment and assures that equipment is kept in good working order and may recommend equipment modification, new equipment and essential construction within the department.
• Assures that appropriate and accurate records are prepared on a timely basis.
• Coordinates department purchasing and maintains proper stock level, storage, and utilization of supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, five to seven years experience is required.
Minimum Work Experience
- Must have three years technical experience.
- Prefer prior supervisory or teaching experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Must possess state license.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
- Ability to work independently within general guidelines
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written
- Required to comply with OSHA regulations for the N95 respirator training and fit testing
- Within 12 months of starting position, will perform full range of CT scans.
- supervises daily activities of up to 30 technical and clerical personnel and students.
