Implementation Consultant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Implementation Consultant based in Canada.

This is a customer-facing consulting role focused on helping large retail organizations translate business challenges into effective technology solutions.
You will combine retail expertise, solution architecture, and consultative skills to guide customers through their transformation journeys.
The role spans discovery, solution design, demonstrations, scoping, implementation guidance, and strategic roadmap development.
You will work closely with sales, customer success, product, engineering, and project teams to create aligned and practical solutions.
As a trusted advisor, you will engage stakeholders ranging from operational practitioners to C-suite executives.
Your recommendations will help customers improve adoption, operational performance, and measurable business outcomes.
The position is remote, with travel of up to 30% for customer meetings, sales events, and industry activities.

Accountabilities

  • Engage directly with customers and sales teams to understand business objectives, operational challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes, translating these insights into well-structured solution recommendations.
  • Oversee and advise on platform implementations, providing technical and business leadership throughout the customer journey and helping reduce implementation risks through proven best practices.
  • Lead discovery and design sessions, document business requirements, identify gaps, and develop future-state visions, solution architectures, configurations, and actionable execution plans.
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations that communicate business value, measurable outcomes, competitive advantages, and potential return on investment rather than focusing solely on product features.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customer executives and practitioners, providing thought leadership, implementation guidance, best practices, and forward-looking roadmaps that support adoption and growth.
  • Partner with sales and account teams to develop business cases, scope statements of work, define project deliverables, lead scoping discussions, and recommend appropriate solutions and project boundaries.
  • Collaborate with internal product, engineering, project, and customer success teams to ensure proposed solutions are aligned, clearly documented, and successfully transitioned for delivery.
  • Maintain strong subject matter expertise across the platform and customer journey, staying current on product enhancements, retail industry trends, competitive intelligence, and emerging customer needs.
  • Maintain and enhance demonstration environments and scenarios to effectively showcase new capabilities and relevant customer use cases.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, sales events, trade shows, and other customer-facing activities as required, including travel of up to 30%.
  • Requirements

    • Bring 3+ years of relevant experience in solutions consulting, sales consulting, presales, implementation consulting, or a comparable customer-facing SaaS role, ideally supporting large enterprise customers.
    • Demonstrate experience in retail operations, enterprise technology, or SaaS environments, with a strong understanding of retail systems and business processes.
    • Possess in-depth knowledge of multiple retail enterprise solutions, particularly areas such as POS, OMS, Sales Audit, CRM/Loyalty, Merchandising, Allocation & Replenishment, and Analytics.
    • Have experience preparing customer presentations and RFP responses, delivering scripted and unscripted software demonstrations, developing business cases, leading discovery sessions, and/or supporting implementation initiatives.
    • Demonstrate strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to audiences ranging from practitioners to C-suite executives.
    • Bring strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to design practical solutions that address specific customer requirements while leveraging available platform capabilities.
    • Be highly customer-focused, proactive, and comfortable acting as a trusted advisor while balancing customer needs with business and technical considerations.
    • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across sales, customer success, product, engineering, project, and customer teams.
    • Be capable of translating business requirements into solution architectures, implementation recommendations, roadmaps, and actionable plans.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of CRM, marketing automation, business intelligence, analytics, and related digital technologies.
    • Be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while participating actively in virtual and in-person meetings and workshops.
    • Be willing to travel up to approximately 30%, primarily by air, for customer engagements, sales activities, and industry events.
    • Be comfortable conducting customer and internal meetings with video enabled.
    • Benefits

      • Remote work from Canada.
      • Base salary plus commission, providing an opportunity to earn additional compensation based on performance.
      • Opportunity to influence enterprise technology initiatives and help large retail organizations achieve measurable operational and business outcomes.
      • Exposure to complex customer environments and opportunities to work with senior business and technology stakeholders.
      • A collaborative, customer-focused environment centered on accountability, innovation, excellence, and action.
      • Opportunities to expand expertise across retail operations, SaaS solutions, implementation, solution architecture, and consultative selling.
      • Participation in customer meetings, industry events, trade shows, and professional workshops.
      • Career development opportunities through continued exposure to product, engineering, sales, and customer success functions.
