Implementation Specialist
The Role
You will be UKON's first Implementation Specialist, reporting to our executive team and working closely with our product, sales, and Cyber Practice Leaders (CPLs), teams. This is a greenfield role. You are being hired to build it.
UKON partners with independent insurance agencies and managed service providers to deliver an outsourced cyber practice. Signing a partnership is only the beginning. Implementation turns a signed agreement into an active, growing agency relationship: getting the agency onboarded, trained, connected to their CPL, and producing. Today that process runs on effort and goodwill. Your job is to turn it into a repeatable system.
You will design the agency onboarding standard, the handoff from sales to CPLs, the training standards, and the implementation playbook, and then run them. You will decide what good looks like, measure it, and keep improving it. This starts as an individual contributor role, with the opportunity to own and grow the implementation function as UKON scales.
Experience implementing technology and managing projects matters more to us than experience in insurance. If you’ve helped customers get up and running on a SaaS or technology product, kept projects on track, and built or improved the process along the way, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Build UKON's agency onboarding standard from the ground up, from signed agreement to active, producing partner.
- Design and run the handoff process between sales and Cyber Practice Leaders so nothing is lost between signature and launch.
- Create training standards and materials that get agencies and their producers confident and active quickly.
- Write and maintain the implementation playbook, including operating procedures, checklists, timelines, and escalation paths.
- Own the implementation pipeline for new agency partners and keep every account moving forward.
- Define implementation metrics, track progress, and report on what is working and what is not.
- Identify where agencies stall after signing and fix the root cause, whether it sits in process, product, or people.
- Partner with sales, CPLs, marketing, and product to feed agency feedback back into how we sell, support, and build.
- Use project management and AI tools to run implementation efficiently and at scale.
What You Bring
- At least 5 years of onboarding, implementation, or customer success experience with SaaS or technology products.
- A track record of building operating procedures and processes from scratch, not just following existing ones.
- Project management experience, including running multiple concurrent implementations with tools like Asana, Monday, ClickUp, or similar.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a process-driven, high-ownership approach to your work.
- The relational skill to work across sales, CPLs, and agency partners and earn their trust.
- Comfort coordinating and directing the work of others, even without formal authority.
- Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn messy processes into simple, usable documentation.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none exists.
Bonus Points
- Experience in insurance, insurtech, or another regulated industry.
- Familiarity with independent insurance agencies, agency management systems, or managed service providers.
- Exposure to product management or experience feeding customer input into a product roadmap.
- Experience as an early hire who built an implementation or onboarding function.
- A property and casualty insurance license, or interest in obtaining one.
What Success Looks Like
- Every new agency partner follows a clear, documented path from signed agreement to active production.
- Sales and CPLs trust the handoff process, and agencies feel supported from day one.
- More signed agencies become active, producing partners, and they get there faster.
- UKON has an implementation playbook that can scale as we add partners and team members.
- Leadership has clear visibility into implementation progress and where agencies need help.
