This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Inbound Lead Intake & Customer Service Specialist based in South Africa.

We are seeking a customer-focused professional to serve as a key first point of contact for prospective and existing customers.
The role centers on handling inbound calls, understanding customer needs, and capturing new opportunities accurately and efficiently.
You will provide a welcoming and professional experience while answering basic questions about products, services, and processes.
A major part of the position involves qualifying leads, documenting project details, and ensuring opportunities reach the right team for follow-up.
You will work in a fast-paced environment where clear communication, active listening, and attention to detail are essential.
The position offers the opportunity to directly contribute to customer satisfaction and the quality of the sales pipeline.
Success in this role requires confidence on the phone, excellent spoken English, reliability, and a strong customer-first mindset.

Accountabilities:

  • Handle inbound calls and customer inquiries professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for prospective and existing customers, creating a positive and professional customer experience.
  • Answer basic questions about products, services, processes, and customer-related procedures following appropriate training.
  • Gather and qualify lead information, including customer needs, project details, contact information, and expected timelines.
  • Ask relevant qualifying questions to identify customer requirements and determine the appropriate next step.
  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain customer and lead information in the relevant CRM, ERP, or business system.
  • Distinguish between qualified opportunities, general inquiries, existing-customer needs, and requests requiring escalation.
  • Route qualified leads and customer concerns to the appropriate team member to support timely follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant information is captured before transferring or escalating an inquiry.
  • Consistently uphold professional phone etiquette and customer service standards across all interactions.
  • Requirements:

    • At least 2 years of experience in customer service, inbound sales, lead intake, reception, appointment setting, or another customer-facing phone-based role.
    • Excellent spoken English, with clear pronunciation and the ability to communicate naturally and professionally with U.S.-based customers.
    • Strong phone etiquette and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly and represent an organization professionally.
    • Comfortable handling a high volume of inbound calls and customer inquiries.
    • Strong active listening skills and the ability to understand customer needs before responding, routing, or escalating an inquiry.
    • Ability to ask effective qualifying questions and accurately capture customer and lead information.
    • Comfortable learning and explaining basic information about products and services after training.
    • Experience entering and maintaining information in a CRM, ERP, or similar business system.
    • Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
    • Ability to recognize qualified sales opportunities and appropriately differentiate them from general inquiries or issues requiring escalation.
    • Reliable internet connection and access to a quiet, professional environment suitable for customer calls.
    • Comfortable working during U.S. Pacific business hours.
    • Experience in flooring, home improvement, construction, interior design, retail, or a related service industry is an advantage but not required.
    • Strong reliability, organization, professionalism, and customer-first attitude.
    • Benefits:
