Are you an experienced phlebotomist who enjoys working independently and providing patients with a more convenient, personal healthcare experience? Orbit Infusion Solutions is growing our Mobile Lab Services team! We are looking for reliable, professional, and patient-focused Independent Contractor Phlebotomists to provide mobile blood draws in patients’ homes and other approved locations throughout Southern California. This is a great opportunity for an experienced phlebotomist looking for flexible independent contractor work while being part of a professional, nurse-led healthcare organization.

What You'll Do As an OIS Mobile Phlebotomist, you will:

• Perform authorized blood draws in patient homes and approved locations
• Verify patient identity and laboratory orders before collection
• Collect specimens using proper phlebotomy and infection-prevention techniques
• Accurately label and document specimens
• Prepare specimens for appropriate transport or laboratory/courier handoff
• Follow specimen handling and collection requirements
• Maintain proper chain of custody and specimen integrity when required
• Follow OSHA bloodborne pathogen and sharps-safety practices
• Maintain patient privacy and HIPAA compliance
• Communicate promptly regarding unsuccessful collections, specimen concerns, patient issues, or other problems
• Complete required visit and collection documentation
• Provide patients with professional, respectful, and compassionate service

What We're Looking For Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience required.

Candidates must also have:

• Active California CDPH CPT I or CPT II certification, as applicable
• Current BLS certification
• Strong venipuncture skills
• Knowledge of specimen collection, labeling, handling, and transport
• Excellent patient communication skills
• Dependability and strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in patient homes
• Reliable transportation
• Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance, when applicable
• Smartphone and reliable internet access for scheduling and documentation
• Professional liability insurance or ability to obtain required coverage
• Ability to complete OIS credentialing, orientation, screening, and competency requirements before accepting assignments

Mobile or in-home phlebotomy experience is strongly preferred. Compensation $30.00 per completed draw. A completed draw is an authorized patient blood-collection encounter in which the ordered specimens are successfully obtained, properly identified and labeled, documented, and transferred through the approved laboratory or courier handoff process. Multiple tubes collected during the same patient encounter are considered one completed draw.

• Payment is due 21 calendar days after Orbit Infusion Solutions receives an itemized invoice
• Contractors submit invoices through the designated OIS process

Any additional compensation must be approved in writing before the assignment. Independent Contractor Opportunity. Phlebotomists are offered assignments based on patient need and geographic availability. You may accept or decline assignments before committing to them, and there is no guaranteed minimum number of assignments or hours.
