About the Internship
We are seeking a Summer Industrial Design Intern to join our Time to Shine Internship Program at Fossil Group HQ in Richardson, TX. This paid, hands-on program is designed for students who are eager to gain real-world product design experience while contributing to meaningful watch design initiatives.
Throughout the program, you’ll gain exposure to trend research, concept development, sketching, color and material exploration, design development, and cross-functional collaboration—while learning how an initial idea becomes a finished Fossil watch.
What You Will Do in This Role

Support Watch Design teams on real-world product design projects across seasonal collections

Conduct trend, consumer, market, and competitive research to inform design direction

Assist with concept development, sketching, mood boards, color palettes, and material exploration

Develop and refine watch concepts based on brand direction and consumer insights

Help prepare design presentations, concept boards, and creative decks

Support the design process from initial ideation through product development

Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, and Sourcing

Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from design and cross-functional partners

Assist with design samples, prototypes, and product evaluations

Explore new materials, finishes, colors, and design details

Partner with a dedicated mentor for creative guidance, feedback, and professional development

Participate in workshops, lunch & learns, and panel discussions

Present a capstone project to Fossil leadership at the end of the program

Bring fresh ideas, creativity, curiosity, and a strong visual point of view to the team

Who You Are (Requirements)

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related design field, graduating between Spring 2027 and Spring 2028

Excited to work in-person at Fossil Group HQ in Richardson, TX (Mon–Thurs onsite, Fri remote)

Strong sketching, conceptual, and visual communication skills

Strong understanding of design fundamentals, proportion, form, color, and materials

Proficient in relevant design software and Adobe Creative Suite

Experience with 3D modeling and rendering software, particularly SolidWorks and KeyShot, is preferred.

Able to communicate design concepts clearly through sketches, presentations, and visual storytelling

Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple projects

Strong attention to detail and ability to incorporate feedback

Passionate about watches, fashion, accessories, trends, and craftsmanship

Portfolio required
