Job Purpose

The Industrial Engineer (IE) is responsible for enhancing manufacturing efficiency and productivity by analyzing workflows, optimizing processes, establishing standard times, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This role focuses on cost reduction, waste elimination, line optimization, and quality improvement across production operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Process Analysis & Optimization

• Analyze existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Value Stream Mapping.
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions (WI), and process documentation.

2. Time Study & Standard Setting

• Conduct time studies and establish standard times using MTM, REFA, or stopwatch methods.
• Review and update labor standards when there are changes in processes, materials, or equipment.

3. Production Layout & Line Balancing

• Design and optimize production line layouts, workstation arrangements, and material flow.
• Perform line balancing to achieve target takt time and improve labor and equipment utilization.
• Support new line setups, product introduction, and production transfers.

4. Continuous Improvement Projects

• Collect and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Lead and support productivity improvement, cost reduction, and waste elimination projects.
• Track results and prepare performance metrics such as OEE, productivity, and cycle time.

5. Technical Support & Training

• Support production teams in solving process-related and efficiency issues.
• Train operators and team leaders on standardized work, optimized methods, and lean concepts.
• Collaborate with QA, QC, Production, and Process Engineering teams to improve product quality and process capability.

6. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of layouts, time studies, production data, and improvement activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports for management review.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic background and high potential are encouraged to apply.

Technical Knowledge

• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
• Experience with time study, MTM, and work measurement.
• Knowledge of line balancing, layout design, and process optimization.
• Proficient in Excel and AutoCAD; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
