Industrial Engineer
Precision Fusing and Sensors is actively hiring for an Industrial Engineer in Middletown, CT. This entry level role plays a pivotal part in our Operations Department, with primary responsibilities that include assisting in analyzing workflows, collecting data, and implementing process improvements aligned with Lean principles.
Responsibilities
Communicate and drive the overall CI Precision Fuzing & Sensors new strategy to Industrial Engineering Manager for communication to the Director of Operations.
Works to collect, organize, and interpret data related to production, labor, and performance metrics. Supports time studies, work measurement, and standard work development.
Help develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual management tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain.
Assist in capacity planning, line balancing, and layout optimization.
Prepare reports and presentations for Industrial Engineering Manager on findings and recommendations
Works in collaboration with employees in shop and administrative functional areas to coordinate, facilitate, and conduct lean events at all Precision Products locations.
Assist with the support of implementing Kaizen, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing projects for improvement.
Establish and maintain effective communication with all applicable team members of lessons learned, information, and best practices as directed by the Continuous Improvement team for read across all facilities.
Qualifications
Four-year college degree in a related field, or a two year college degree in a related field with additional work experience that equates to a complete four-year degree required.
0-2 years of experience including internship or co-op experience in manufacturing, operations, or process improvement. Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Shift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30a-3:00p
