Industrial Hygiene Technician

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center at Fort Hood, Texas. Inspect work areas, conduct assessments to evaluate existing potential health hazards, analyze findings, prepare reports, and recommend solutions to problems.

Enter data collected from surveys or air samples into Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Reporting System (DOEHRS-IH) database.

Perform sampling using standard methods to establish the nature and degree of hazards, and industrial products; and check compliance with Threshold Limit Values (TLV) or Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL).

Perform respirator fit testing; and provide worker training on respirator selection, usage, and care.

Maintain records associated with maintenance and calibration of equipment.
