Industrial Maintenance Technician (Automation & CNC Equipment)

Position Summary

The Industrial Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs automated production equipment and CNC machinery to ensure safe, efficient operations and minimize downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated production lines and CNC equipment.

· Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues to minimize downtime.

· Maintain and repair CNC routers, machining centers, saws, and other manufacturing equipment.

· Perform equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and commissioning activities.

· Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and quality.

· Conduct routine inspections and document maintenance activities accurately in CMMS.

· Coordinate with production personnel to prioritize repairs and maintenance needs.

· Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory.

· Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and lockout/tagout procedures.

· Assist with training operators on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.

· Respond to emergency equipment breakdowns and provide timely repairs.

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or GED.

· Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

· Experience maintaining automated production lines and CNC machinery.

· Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

· Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

· Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

· Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.

· Familiarity with and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.

· Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.

Preferred

· Experience with VFDs and servo motors would be a plus.

· CNC maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment would be a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision with excellent communication and teamwork skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

· Basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined spaces for extended periods and abillty to lift 50 pounds.

· Ability to work at heights and around moving mechanical equipment.

· Ability to work in varying manufacturing environments, including exposure to noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
