We currently have an opening for a Fastener Dealer Representative in the greater Chicagoland area. Previous experience within the construction industry is ideal, but not required. Your primary responsibility will be to sell nails and staples to lumber yards and other construction resellers. The position includes a mature account base that will be turned over to you. In addition to maintaining and growing this existing base, you will be responsible for prospecting for additional business to add to this account base. The position is salary plus commission. A generous benefits package includes 3 weeks paid vacation in year one, a 401K program with company matching and company paid short and long term disability. A full dental and health plan is available as well as company paid life insurance. Our Chicago office is in Addison, but you would primarily work from home when you are not out on sales calls

Responsibilities of the Fastener Dealer Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Grow and maintain new and existing accounts

  • Proactively identify new sales opportunities within an assigned territory

  • Develop sales plan of targeted customers and markets

  • Continue to develop knowledge of the construction industry and create innovative solutions to client’s specific needs

Qualifications of the Fastener Dealer Representative include, but are not limited to:

  • Some contractor knowledge and mechanical aptitude is a plus

  • Must demonstrate discipline and organizational ability to plan and follow a sales plan consistently, as well as to allocate call efforts proficiently and productively

  • Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work productively with minimal supervision

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Must have customer service oriented mentality

  • Must have perseverance

  • Must have ability to build a rapport with clients
