Industrialization & Capital Projects Coordinator

Position Summary:
We are looking for an Industrialization & Capital Projects Coordinator to support the planning and implementation of new manufacturing equipment, technologies, capital projects and process improvements.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who enjoys getting things done. You will work closely with Operations, Methods/Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Maintenance, Finance, suppliers and Head Office to coordinate projects from initial planning through installation, commissioning and production launch.
The successful candidate will be organized, technically minded and comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders.
This position will report to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate approved capital projects from planning through implementation and handover.
Support the evaluation and selection of new manufacturing equipment, technology and automation.
Gather equipment requirements and coordinate supplier quotations, demonstrations and technical information.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, action lists and documentation.
Track capital expenditures against approved budgets and report variances.
Coordinate suppliers, contractors and internal departments during equipment installation and commissioning.
Coordinate project meetings, follow-ups, milestones and deliverables.
Support the preparation of capital expenditure requests, business cases and management presentations.
Work with Operations and Methods/Engineering to identify process improvement and manufacturing capability opportunities.
Assist with production trials, equipment acceptance and production readiness activities.
Provide regular project updates to the Operations Manager and Head Office.
Maintain project documentation and ensure required information is available for operational handover.
Follow up on completed projects to confirm that expected improvements and capabilities have been achieved.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:

3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, project coordination, engineering, operations or a related field.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
Comfortable working with equipment suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Ability to understand manufacturing processes and equipment requirements.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel and project tracking tools.
Able to manage multiple priorities and keep projects moving.
Post-secondary education in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Operations, Project Management or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.

Preferred:

CNC machining or aerospace manufacturing experience.
Experience with capital equipment or manufacturing technology.
Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Experience coordinating equipment installation or commissioning.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Project management training or certification.

What Success Looks Like:
Projects stay organized, decisions happen on time, suppliers know what is expected, equipment gets delivered and installed, and ready for operational use.
You will be the person who keeps the moving parts moving and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks.
