Summary

Early childhood educator planning and delivering care and learning programs for infants and toddlers aged 2–36 months in a Singapore-based preschool.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Principal, the infant/ toddler teacher is responsible for the care, supervision and management of a class of infants/toddlers in accord with the goals and curriculum plan of the centre
  • Develop and deliver the programs for the 2-36 months old infant/toddler based on the curriculum framework;
  • Build a good relationship with children and parents;
  • Plan and carry out the daily programme, development and care giving tasks assigned
  • Observe and assess infant’s developmental growth, learning and development of infants and toddlers through interactive and stimulating experience.
  • Equip children with life skills and cultivate values that will prepare them to be lifelong learners.
  • Conduct lessons according to school’s curriculum and enrichment programme
  • Ensure that daily care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with the good child development principles including diapering, eating, napping, and transitioning between activities
  • Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, and proper maintenance of equipment
  • Create an open, friendly, and cooperative atmosphere in which children and parents feel comfortable and secure
  • Provide experiences that promote individual expression through conversation, play, and creative interaction
