The Infection Control Registered Nurse / Clinical Educator provides clinical education and evaluation to nursing and patient care staff and facilitates required training to nursing staff. Collaborates with medical practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for a specialized group of patients. Provides direct specialty nursing services as needed, ensuring adherence to Joint Commission standards and all related company policies, procedures, and guidelines. This position is also a Registered Nurse responsible for coordinating the Infection Control Program, including infection surveillance and reporting, and providing technical support and education to hospital staff.

• Implement and oversee infection control measures to maintain a safe and sanitary environment within the hospital.
• Develop and update infection control policies in alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance clinical knowledge and promote adherence to best infection control practices in patient care, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with infection control policies and procedures across the hospital.
• Conduct investigations during infectious disease outbreaks and develop effective response strategies.
• Collaborate to implement timely and appropriate interventions during outbreaks.

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

• Education: A graduate of an appropriately accredited school of nursing, is licensed by the State to practice as a Registered Nurse, and demonstrates an understanding of the principles of epidemiology and infectious disease in the hospital
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, with infection control experience preferred. Nursing leadership training and curriculum development preferred
• Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
• Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA regulations, and all other state and federal regulatory standards.

Compensation:
