Atlantic Health Infection Prevention Practitioner (RN), Full Time Days, 8a - 4p, Atlantic Health, Morristown Medical Center
Responsible for leading the development, implementation, and coordination of infection control policies, procedures, and activities.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Implements Infection Prevention (IP) measures under the guidance of the IP manager.
2. Surveys, collects, analyzes and manages data.
3. Analyzes problem areas and determines solutions.
4. Partners with bed management for appropriate patient placement and must have the ability to identify the appropriate isolation precautions for various disease entities.
5. Reports to the CDC, State and Local health department.
6. Serves as an active member of the Infection Prevention Committee and other hospital- based committees.
7. Provides education as it relates to infection prevention for all levels of employees/medical staff, patients/families, and visitors.
8. Collaborates with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
2. Licensure for Registered Nurse.
Preferred:
1. 2 years of experience in Acute Care, Infection Prevention or relevant area.
