Information Receptionist

The employee will be assigned as an Information Receptionist/Inpatient Transporter at the LTC Charles S. Kettles VA Medical Center in Ann Arbor, MI. The employee will provide Veterans/patients, their families and visitors with staff who can respond quickly to inquiries, identify problems and improve the experience of those visiting the campus. The services are designed to respond to customer immediate needs including navigation, direction, and information assistance.

***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Offers directional assistance by escorting patients and visitors to and from their destination by walking, pushing a wheelchair and/or including driving the golf cart. Provides a variety of information about the organization, its functions and activities. Assists patients and visitors by answering questions and providing information on the organization, activities and personnel of the facility. Assists patients with courtesy, empathy and friendliness. Uses the computer, involving light typing, looking up patient appointment information and tracking information on databases and spreadsheets. Stocks information desks with correct and clearly defined informational resources for the staff and patients. Performs other related duties as assigned.
