Information Security Administrator

Countybank

Build Your Career in Information Security

Countybank is seeking an Information Security Administrator for a unique career opportunity at the intersection of technology, risk, and banking. Whether you already have experience in information security or are interested in how your skills could translate into the field, this role offers the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of information security, learn the reasoning behind important controls and practices, and gain hands-on experience supporting the programs that help protect a financial institution.

This opportunity is especially well suited for someone who enjoys analyzing information, solving problems, understanding how processes work, and recognizing when something deserves a closer look. You may be the person who asks one more question, validates the information before accepting it, or notices when something doesn't quite add up. If that's how you naturally approach your work, information security may offer an opportunity to apply those strengths in a different way and build expertise in a specialized and evolving field.

Working directly with Countybank's Information Security Officer, you'll have the opportunity to learn from an experienced information security professional, gain exposure to multiple areas of the Information Security Program and take on greater responsibility as your knowledge and capabilities grow. The position is designed to support the ISO in the execution, administration, and ongoing maintenance of Countybank's Information Security Program.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

  • Learn directly from the Information Security Officer while gaining practical experience across multiple areas of an Information Security Program.
  • Build broad experience through exposure to risk assessments, audits and examinations, access controls, security awareness, business continuity and disaster recovery, and compliance monitoring.
  • Understand the "why" behind the work, including how security controls, policies, processes, and regulatory expectations work together to help protect a financial institution.
  • Develop an enterprise perspective by working across lines of business and departments and seeing how information security intersects with technology, operations, risk, compliance, and the business. The role is designed to coordinate information security activities across departments rather than operate within only one area.
  • Grow your responsibilities over time as your knowledge, judgment, and capabilities develop.

Key Responsibilities

Information Security Program Administration

Support the implementation and ongoing administration of Countybank's approved information security policies, procedures, and standards. Maintain documentation, inventories, and supporting evidence that demonstrate compliance with established practices and controls.

Risk, Audit, and Examination Support

Assist with the execution, documentation, and tracking of information security risk assessments, remediation items, and management responses, as well as audit and examination activities. Organize and maintain supporting documentation and evidence and track follow-up items through completion.

Security Awareness and Training

Coordinate and support information security awareness and training activities with the Information Security Officer and Information Technology Operations Manager, including tracking completion and maintaining training records.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Coordinate the testing, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of the Information Systems components of Countybank's Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Program under the direction of the Information Security Officer.

Access and Security Controls

Work with Information Technology to support the administration and monitoring of technical and operational controls, including access controls, authentication, logging, and monitoring activities.

User Access Reviews

Coordinate periodic user access reviews, document results, and track necessary remediation in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Compliance Monitoring and Reporting

Monitor adherence to information security policies and procedures and escalate identified issues, exceptions, or potential violations to the Information Security Officer as appropriate. Support operational and metrics-based reporting to the Information Security Officer and Technology Committee as directed.

Internal Partnership

Serve as an internal information security resource and provide subject matter support to managers and associates, as directed by the Information Security Officer, while developing an understanding of how information security requirements apply across different areas of the organization.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to have encountered every aspect of information security to bring valuable experience to this role. Success will depend on how you approach the work, your ability to learn, and your willingness to develop deeper expertise over time.

The person who thrives in this role will:

  • Be able to analyze complex information and connect individual details to larger processes, controls, and risks.
  • Exercise sound judgment and recognize when information or circumstances may require additional review.
  • Value accuracy and understand why documentation, consistent execution, and follow-through matter in a regulated environment.
  • Work effectively within established policies, procedures, and controls while still thinking critically about the information in front of them.
  • Enjoy learning how systems, processes, people, policies, and controls work together.
  • Communicate clearly and work effectively with both technical and nontechnical colleagues.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate judgment and discretion.
  • Be motivated to continue learning as technology, information security risks, and regulatory expectations evolve.

An Opportunity to Learn and Grow

We recognize that someone building a career in information security may not come to Countybank having already encountered every area covered by this position. What matters is having the right foundation, mindset, and motivation to learn.

Through direct work with the Information Security Officer and collaboration with Information Technology and other areas of Countybank, this role offers the opportunity to develop practical experience while gaining an understanding of how an Information Security Program operates within a regulated financial institution. As your knowledge and capabilities grow, so can the complexity of your work and the contribution you make to Countybank's Information Security Program. The breadth of the position includes risk assessments, audit and examination support, information security awareness, business continuity and disaster recovery, technical and operational controls, user access reviews, compliance monitoring, and reporting.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in information security, cybersecurity, information technology, business, risk management, or a related field preferred, but not required.

Experience

  • Previous experience in information security, information technology, risk management, audit, compliance, banking operations, internal controls, or a similar role is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in a financial institution or other regulated environment is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to analyze information, identify inconsistencies or potential concerns, and determine when additional review may be appropriate.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed information and follow items through to completion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to understand and work within established policies, procedures, standards, and controls.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential, sensitive, or security-related information.
  • Ability to learn new systems, technologies, processes, and technical concepts.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and build productive working relationships.
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional development.

This is a full-time position in a smoke- and drug-free workplace with strong corporate values that foster associate growth and satisfaction.
