Information Security Compliance Officer
Summary
Information Security Compliance Officer for a digital bank (hired via recruiter Envision): runs end-to-end GRC and compliance programmes covering PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and Central Bank of Egypt cybersecurity regulations — gap assessments, audit coordination, evidence tracking, policies, and keeping the bank audit-ready day to day.
Envision Employment Solutions is currently looking for an Information Security Compliance Officerfor one of our partners, a leading Digital Bank!
THE ROLE
A bank earns its license by proving, again and again, that its controls actually work. As Information Security Compliance Officer in the Security GRC team, you run the programmes that prove it, across PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and the Central Bank of Egypt’s cybersecurity regulations, including the Egypt Financial Cybersecurity Framework. You find the gaps before an auditor does, work with business and technology teams to close them, and keep the bank audit ready every day, not just the week before an inspection.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage end to end compliance programmes for PCI DSS (v4.0.x), SOC 2 Type I/II, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, and other applicable standards, from scoping through certification and ongoing maintenance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with the CBE Egypt Financial Cybersecurity Framework and related CBE cybersecurity regulations, circulars, and instructions (e.g., internet and digital banking, outsourcing and vendor management requirements)
- Conduct gap assessments and readiness reviews, and build and track remediation plans with control owners until closure
- Coordinate CBE cybersecurity maturity self-assessments and independent assessments, prepare evidence, and track regulatory findings and action plans
- Lead PCI DSS activities, including cardholder data environment (CDE) scoping, segmentation validation, Self-Assessment Questionnaires (SAQs), Reports on Compliance (ROC), Attestations of Compliance (AOC), and quarterly ASV scan tracking
- Manage SOC 2 audits against the Trust Services Criteria, including control design, evidence collection, and auditor coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, QSAs, certification bodies, and regulators during audits and inspections
- Maintain a unified control framework that maps requirements across PCI DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, SWIFT CSCF, and CBE regulations to reduce duplicated effort
- Monitor controls on an ongoing basis, carry out periodic compliance reviews and spot checks, and report on control effectiveness
- Develop, review, and maintain information security policies, standards, and procedures in line with regulatory and standard requirements
- Track new and changing regulations (CBE circulars, Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020, card scheme requirements), assess their impact, and drive implementation
- Support third party and vendor security risk assessments to make sure outsourcing arrangements meet regulatory and contractual requirements
- Prepare compliance dashboards, metrics, and reports for management, risk committees, and the board
- Run security compliance awareness for staff and control owners on regulatory and standard obligations
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in information security, including at least 2 years hands-on managing compliance programmes
- Expert knowledge of CBE cybersecurity regulations and frameworks, including the Egypt Financial Cybersecurity Framework and its maturity assessment approach, plus experience dealing with CBE inspections and findings
- Hands-on experience with PCI DSS compliance, including scoping, SAQ/ROC preparation, and working with QSAs
- Hands-on experience with SOC 2 readiness and audits, and good knowledge of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27002
- Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-53, SWIFT CSCF, and COBIT
- Good understanding of security controls across IT infrastructure, applications, cloud, and identity management, to assess control design and evidence
- Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., ServiceNow GRC, RSA Archer, MetricStream) or similar tools to manage controls, evidence, and findings
Preferred certifications
- PCI Professional (PCIP) or PCI QSA training
- ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer or Lead Auditor
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- CRISC or CISM (an advantage)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent foundational security certification
Soft skills
- Strong attention to detail and a structured, organised way of working
- Clear written and verbal communication, including turning regulatory requirements into practical actions for technical and business teams
- Confident dealing with auditors, regulators, and senior management
- Ability to influence control owners and drive remediation without direct authority
- High integrity and sound judgement when handling sensitive and confidential information
YOU’LL THRIVE HERE IF YOU
- You’d rather map one control to five standards than document it five times
- You find the gap before the auditor does, and follow it until it’s closed
- You can turn a dense CBE circular into an action a control owner understands
- You can get remediation done without having authority over the people doing it
- You want the bank to be audit ready every day, not just before an inspection
WHY THIS ROLE
A digital bank is only as trusted as its controls are provable. You make sure every standard, every regulator, and every audit finds a bank that can show its work.
