Information Security Officer
Summary
University College London is hiring an Information Security Officer based in North West London to work within its IT services, handling security incidents/requests and delivering IT training to users. The role requires sound technical knowledge of areas such as TCP/IP networking, firewalls, and Unix/Windows system administration.
Salary: £39,000 - 62,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience operating as part of an IT service providing IT incident and request services.
- Experience managing or providing IT training to customers in a class or one-on-one basis.
- Sound technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: networks and the TCP/IP protocol suite; firewalls and other perimeter security technology; system administration and server operating systems (Unix and/or Windows); desktop and client devices and desktop operating systems.
- Knowledge or awareness of some of the following information security technologies: encryption, the TCP-IP protocol, vulnerability and penetration testing, compliance checking, anti-virus software, personal client firewall, network firewall and other perimeter security and intrusion detection technologies.
- Programming or script writing experience.
- Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Participate in the delivery of a comprehensive set of information security services to the UCL community.
- Respond to a range of information security incidents and information security requests.
- Proactively promote and achieve compliance with the agreed security posture in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner.
- Help protect UCLs information assets through incident response, policies and procedures, awareness and training, prevention, and other best practice activities.
