Requirements:
  • Experience operating as part of an IT service providing IT incident and request services.
  • Experience managing or providing IT training to customers in a class or one-on-one basis.
  • Sound technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: networks and the TCP/IP protocol suite; firewalls and other perimeter security technology; system administration and server operating systems (Unix and/or Windows); desktop and client devices and desktop operating systems.
  • Knowledge or awareness of some of the following information security technologies: encryption, the TCP-IP protocol, vulnerability and penetration testing, compliance checking, anti-virus software, personal client firewall, network firewall and other perimeter security and intrusion detection technologies.
  • Programming or script writing experience.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the delivery of a comprehensive set of information security services to the UCL community.
  • Respond to a range of information security incidents and information security requests.
  • Proactively promote and achieve compliance with the agreed security posture in a pragmatic and solution-oriented manner.
  • Help protect UCLs information assets through incident response, policies and procedures, awareness and training, prevention, and other best practice activities.
  • Support confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
