Job Summary
The IT Information Security Identity & Access Management team at HOOPP is currently looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated co-op student to help us modernize our identity platforms and build on our foundational identity controls supporting our Information Security program.
Working in an agile team environment, you will learn about Information Security, Identity & Access Management, identity governance, and gain hands-on exposure to the pension industry, and help make a major difference in the lives of over 400,000 current and future pensioners in our community.
What you will do:
Collaborate and work closely with your fellow team members within Identity & Access Management as well as the broader Information Security team.
Assist in the development of processes and procedures, and provide continuous improvement to existing processes with a focus on documentation, scripting, and automation, as well as programming against APIs
Support the analysis of the team’s cloud security posture, alignment with industry best practices for server management and maintenance
Help design or enhance automated workflows to support identity governance and administration
Proactively identify security issues and risks around identity, and implement general controls to prevent or mitigate those risks
Maintaining current knowledge of Information Security and Identity standards and best practices, and monitor trends and changes impacting the Information Security space
Support the team’s response to IT incidents
How you'll work with us:
You'll be treated as a full member of the team, not an observer - you'll own a piece of work end to end, present it, and defend your design choices
You'll work in the open: sharing partial work early, asking for help before you're stuck for a day, and giving and receiving direct feedback
You'll be expected to say when something isn't working and ask for help, including when it's your own idea
The desire to ask “why”, question with curiosity and intent
You've automated something tedious, scripted around a limitation, or built a tool for yourself and you can show it
You document as you go, leave things better than you found them, and share what you learn as a team player
What you will bring:
