Information Specialist – Safety Branch (Clerk 3 ADM04)
- Respond to and manage inquiries received through the 1-800 Occupational Health & Safety service line.
- Provide accurate information and guidance to employers, stakeholders, and members of the public.
- Review, prepare, and verify documents, records, and correspondence.
- Maintain and organize departmental files, records, and databases.
- Assist with inventory tracking and administrative coordination.
- Support the distribution and management of inter-office communications and mail.
- Apply established policies, procedures, and guidelines while exercising sound judgment when handling exceptions.
- Assist in coordinating daily office operations and administrative activities.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and other administrative documentation as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient service delivery and operational effectiveness.
- Grade XI education plus four (4) years of related administrative, customer service, information services, or office support experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven ability to exercise judgment and make decisions within established guidelines.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and record-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related office software.
- Experience working in a government, regulatory, safety, or public service environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety programs, policies, or legislation.
- Experience handling high-volume inquiries through phone and email channels.
