Ignite Digital is seeking an Information Systems Security II for the Washington, DC area to support a cybersecurity project for the U.S. Navy. The Information Systems Security II professional serves as a senior security specialist responsible for evaluating, securing, and maintaining the protection posture of enterprise IT systems. This role requires extensive expertise in Information Assurance (IA), federal cybersecurity policies, and security administration. This position supports high‑visibility DoW missions and requires a disciplined and proactive security mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather and organize technical information related to mission needs, organizational goals, IT infrastructure, and existing security/IA products.
  • Assist in developing security and IA policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring alignment with federal and DoD requirements.
  • Work directly with customers to minimize cybersecurity risks, conduct assessments, and secure networks across multiple system boundaries.
  • Evaluate security products, tools, and controls to determine suitability and compliance with mission requirements.
  • Conduct security posture reviews, documentation analysis, and contribute to enterprise‑level IA planning activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • Eligible for DoD TS/SCI upon hiring
  • Two of the following cybersecurity certifications: CISSO, CISSP, Security+, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or CASP+
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience, with at least five (5) years specifically in information security or Information Assurance (IA).
  • Hands‑on experience in security administration, evaluation of IA product capabilities, security assessment, and security policy development.
  • A strong understanding of federal information security/assurance standards, policies, and regulations (e.g., DoD cybersecurity policies, NIST frameworks, federal IA compliance standards).
  • Deep familiarity with DoD IA frameworks, NIST SP 800‑series publications, and other federal cybersecurity standards
  • Strong ability to translate technical risks into mission and operational impacts
  • Experience partnering with Government stakeholders or DoW program offices
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across complex environments

Salary: $115k+ to align with education and experience.
